(1) The librarian shall manage the operations, programs, and services of the library within the policy established by the board of trustees, the policy and ordinances of the town, and other applicable laws and rules.

(2) The librarian shall supervise subordinates and engage volunteers as authorized by the board.

(3) The librarian shall assist the board in identifying needs for library services, tracking legislation impacting library operations, proposing policies, evaluating effectiveness, improving efficiency, preparing a proposed library budget, and otherwise assist the board in the performance of its duties as set forth in CMC 2.45.045.
