An employee should provide two weeks’ notice of resignation. This time limit may be waived by the mayor. Department head staff that include but may not be limited to the public works superintendent and the clerk-treasurer should notify the mayor as early as possible of their intent to resign and provide no less than 30 days’ notice, prior to their last working day.
